Confirmation

Confirmation, along with the Sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist, constitute the Sacraments of Initiation. The Sacrament of Confirmation is imparted with two sacred signs: the laying on of hands and the anointing with the oil of Chrism. These signs set the seal of the Holy Spirit upon us which marks our total belonging to Christ.

Our Confirmation program will be transitioning to confirming students in the fall of their 9th Grade year after completion of required formation. The goal of our confirmation program is to help participants better understand the Catholic faith and the role of Confirmation in the life of a Catholic today.
 

8th GRADE CONFIRMATION - 2022-23

This is your child’s Confirmation Year. The goal of this year is to help participants attain a better understanding of their Catholic faith so that they may choose this faith as their own at their confirmation ceremony on October 8, 2023 at 7:00pm. Options for Formation:
1.  Attend year-long 1 meeting per month model from 7:00-9:00pm for 9 sessions.  Every class session will be designed to be engaging, interactive, and challenging. Students will meet as a whole group but will have small groups for deeper discussion and activity surrounding the lesson. Various prayer experiences will be included with each class. 

       8th Grade Confirmation Wednesdays 7:00-9:00 p.m.
       Dates: 9-28 (Fall Retreat), 10-26, 11-16, 12-14, 1-18, 2-8, 3-8, 3-29, 4-26

            Parents are urged to consider volunteering in the 8th Grade Confirmation                      program as a Confirmation Mentor!

2.  Cor Christi is a week-long retreat in the Summer before Freshman year. Choose from two options in Summer of 2023. You must submit a Certificate of Completion to be Confirmed in the Fall of 2023.  Cost is $200, but Corpus will pay the 1st $100 so the cost to your family is $100.

3.  Combo is our traditional formation program (1) along with Cor Christi (2).  Cost for both is $120 as Corpus Christi will subsidize both.

4.  Light of Christ students will do formation at school.  They will be confirmed with the 8th Grade class in the Fall of 2023 as freshman.

5.  Distance Learning Requests for those choosing none of the above options:
     a.  CHOSEN online program at home
     b.  Certificate of Completion is required
     c.  Cost to parent for any additional materials needed.

WITH ALL OPTIONS:  Attendance is REQUIRED at the Fall of 2022 retreat  & Fall of 2023 retreat, reconciliation service and rehearsal in the Fall of 2023.
